Job summary

The Kingsley School is seeking to appoint examination invigilators to join our experienced team. Training will be provided, and the role may suit someone returning to work or taking a career break. Invigilators ensure examinations run fairly and securely for all candidates.

Hours are based on public examination weeks; sessions start at 8:00am or 12:30pm, with additional opportunities for internal exams. Location is on site at The Kingsley School with an hourly rate of £15.08 (holiday pay

• Applicants must declare if they have invigilated previously and any maladministration/malpractice sanctions.

Job description

The Kingsley School is seeking to appoint individuals to join our experienced and friendly team of examination invigilators. The post may be attractive to someone recently retired or on a career break.It is the role of the invigilators is to ensure that examinations are conducted according to the regulations to:

ensure all candidates have an equal opportunity to demonstrate their abilities;

ensure the security of the examination materials before, during and after the examination;

prevent possible candidate malpractice;

prevent possible administrative failures.

Experience of invigilation or working in schools is not required as training will be provided, although applicants are required to declare if they have invigilated previously and whether they have any current maladministration/malpractice sanctions applied to them

Hours of Work: Public examinations take place in November, January, May and June each year and applicants will be expected to make themselves available for all or most of the examination weeks. The length of sessions can vary although you will need stay for the duration of each session allocated. Morning invigilation sessions usually begin at 8.00am and afternoon sessions at 12.30pm.. Further invigilation opportunities are available during the academic year for some internal exams (e.g. trial exams in January).

Salary: £15.08 per hour (£12.89 + £2.19 holiday pay)
