The King’s College School Wimbledon invites applications for invigilators to support exams through strict adherence to awarding body regulations during IB, A Level and (I)GCSE exams. Flexible hours, zero-hours contracts with sessions typically morning or afternoon, with some on-demand opportunities during January mock periods.
Ideal candidates are responsible, reliable, punctual and able to communicate clearly with pupils and staff. Prior experience in education is preferred.
Each academic year we require a team of invigilators to assist the exam department in ensuring awarding body regulations are strictly upheld during public examinations, invigilating IB, A Level and (I)GCSE qualifications. The majority of public exams take place during late April, May and June (7-8 weeks) however invigilators are also required for our formal mock examinations, which are held in January (2 weeks). These are the core periods of employment however we also offer other opportunities to invigilate during the academic year, including for school admissions tests, US College Board exams, language and music exams, and resits, as well as the opportunity to be involved with stewarding for our King’s Arts Festival in late June.
We are seeking individuals to invigilate both internal and public examinations during the 2026-27 academic year, with the possibility of continued employment in subsequent years. This year’s core exam dates are:
Applicants need to be available throughout those core periods, ideally for more than five sessions each week (a session is either a morning or afternoon session) and the flexibility to work beyond the end of the school day, with some exams finishing around 5.30pm. Morning sessions typically begin at 8.00am with afternoon sessions starting at 12.00pm.

The post is offered on a flexible zero-hours contract, with hours offered in accordance with the examination schedule or on an as-and-when-required basis. There is no guaranteed minimum number of bookings per week or per month.
Invigilators are required to attend initial exams training, an annual update session in the autumn term and a summer briefing prior to the start of the summer season. Any statutory training provided by the school must be completed before undertaking any invigilation duties.
