A GCSE Gujarati (2018 Specification) Examiner marks candidates’ responses according to the predefined mark scheme, adhering to recognition and examination procedures. Most subjects are marked onscreen using ePEN, which can be done from home. Some subjects are still marked traditionally, using paper scripts sent by post. A high level of subject knowledge is necessary to apply the mark scheme. Each examiner will receive an allocated number of scripts.

Responsibilities

  • Mark accurately and consistently to maintain standards
  • Submit samples to your Team Leader at designated times
  • Adhere to marking milestones
  • Complete all administration as specified

Experience/qualifications needed

  • Degree or equivalent
  • Qualified teacher status, accepted from UK and overseas qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 months part-time teaching experience in relevant qualification and subject within the last 10 years, obtained in the UK
  • Alternatively, assessment experience with a recognized UK exam board within the last 5 years, relevant to the qualification and subject
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • High subject knowledge to apply the mark scheme

  • Marking period: May - July
  • Training: between May and June
