Job summary

David Nieper Academy is seeking invigilators to uphold examination standards in accordance with JCQ regulations. You will arrive early, manage papers, prepare rooms, and ensure proper seating and rules are followed. You will also report breaches and maintain exam security.

Training will be provided, and you will work as part of an examination team, staying calm under variable demands and collaborating with staff to ensure a smooth examination process.

Responsibilities

• Ensure examinations are carried out formally and in accordance with JCQ regulations.
• Arrive at school at least 30 minutes before the scheduled examination start time.
• Collect examination papers and materials for rooms across the Academy.
• Ensure examination rooms are set out to receive the expected number of candidates.
• Display notices and regulations in and outside the examination room.
• Prepare seating plans and name cards for examinations.
• Ensure candidates bring the correct equipment and are properly entered.
• Maintain accurate attendance registers.
• Provide candidates with the correct examination papers and materials.
• Be familiar with awarding body and Academy regulations for conduct of examinations.
• Report any breaches of regulations to the Examinations Officer.
• Maintain security of examination papers and candidate scripts.
• Deliver completed scripts to the Examinations Officer.
• Comply with directions from the Examinations Officer.
• Be vigilant but non-intrusive while invigilating.
• Move quietly between desks without disturbing students.
• Play an active role within the examination team.
• Attend training sessions as required.
• Other duties as allocated by Headteacher or Examinations Officer.
