Job summary

Dorset Council is seeking reliable invigilators to join the examination teams at The Gryphon School or King Arthur's School in Wincanton. The role is casual with a pay rate of £13.05 per hour (2026 pay award pending).

Induction is provided before you commence, and successful candidates will help ensure exams run smoothly and safely for students. We welcome caring, flexible adults with strong organisation and teamwork to support students, including SEND access arrangements where needed.

Qualifications

• Be caring and supportive.
• Have the ability to empathise with students.
• Be able to use a range of strategies to deal with students under pressure and also individual behavioural needs.
• Have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Support examinations to run smoothly and in accordance with regulations.
• Create a calm and positive environment for students.
• Work as part of Invigilation Teams at The Gryphon School or King Arthur's School, Wincanton.
• Assist SEND students with examination access arrangements where needed.
• Attend a comprehensive induction before starting.
