Salary: £12.54 per hour

What you will do as an Exam Invigilator

  • Setting the scene: Preparing exam rooms, distributing papers, and welcoming students with quiet confidence.
  • Keeping it fair: Ensuring exam regulations are followed to the letter – no phones, no talking, no funny business.
  • Staying alert: Watching for signs of malpractice, confusion, or distress – and knowing exactly what to do if something goes awry.
  • Supporting students: Guiding them through the process, answering procedural questions, and helping them stay calm and focused.
  • Working as a team: Collaborating with the Exams Manager and fellow invigilators to keep everything running smoothly.
  • Being flexible: Available during key exam periods (November, January, May, June, and July) and willing to work across both campuses.

  • Confidence in following procedures and handling unexpected situations.
  • Basic IT skills and a willingness to learn.
  • Experience in education or administration is a bonus – but not essential.

Benefits

  • Holiday paid into your salary
  • 21.7% College pension contribution to LGPS
  • Staff development & training (100% employer coverage for training/development related to your role, and discounted part-time courses)
