Job summary

Duke's Aldridge Academy, part of Aldridge Education, in Tottenham—London, invites applications for a Casual Exam Invigilator to support exams and uphold integrity of assessments.

You will supervise candidates, set up rooms, and ensure exam procedures are followed, with duties including handling scripts and managing late arrivals in line with regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with setting up exam rooms.
• Report to and be briefed by the exams officer prior to each exam session.
• Keeping confidential exam papers and materials secure before, during and after exams.
• Completing attendance registers.
• Dealing with extra candidates not on the registers.
• Recording absent candidates.
• Checking seating plans.
• Ensuring candidates have the correct papers.
• Reading out the starting script and any erratum notice to the candidates.
• Ensuring exam conditions are maintained at all times.
• Dealing with late arrivals.
• Dealing with emergencies such as illness or fire alarms.
• Reporting incidents, disruptions or malpractice.
• Responding to queries in accordance with exam regulations.
• Supervising candidates quietly and unobtrusively.
• Closing exams and dismissing candidates.
• Returning all scripts and materials securely to the Examinations Officer.
• Carrying out any other duties delegated by the Examinations Officer.

The aim of Casual Exam Invigilator is to ensure the smooth, fair, and secure conduct of examinations by supervising candidates, maintaining exam conditions, and following all examination regulations and procedures to uphold the integrity of the assessment process.

• Responding to any queries in accordance with exam regulations.
• Supervising the candidates in a quiet and unobtrusive manner.
• Closing the examination and dismissing candidates.
• Ensure exam conditions are maintained until the candidates are dismissed from the room.
• Check exam desks for any graffiti.
• Collecting scripts and any examination material.
• Tidying of exam room.
• Returning all scripts and materials securely to the Examinations Officer.
• Any other duties delegated by the Examinations Officer.
