Job summary

Targeted Provision is seeking SEND Tutors and Teachers to transform the lives of disengaged, at-risk learners in the UK. Roles include Maths, English, or Science tuition with trauma-informed, flexible delivery—online, in-person or hybrid. Experience with SEND/SEMH and QTS/QTLS preferred.

The opportunity offers flexible hours, CPD mentoring, and a supportive team around both students and tutors. This role is self-employed and opportunistic, catering to community needs across the UK.

Qualifications

• 2+ years teaching experience, ideally with SEND/SEMH/MLD/SLD/PMLD in a trauma-informed approach.
• QTS/QTLS and DBS preferred.
• Right to work in the UK with enhanced DBS support provided if needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person, online or hybrid Maths, English or Science tuition to SEND/SEMH learners.
• Plan lessons and report progress; give regular feedback to pupils.
• Support KS1–KS5 as appropriate for your skills.
• Contribute to raising standards for young people with SEND and SEMH needs.

SEND Tutor And Teacher Role Requirements

• Experience: 2+ years teaching experience, ideally working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD in a holistic and trauma-informed way
• Subjects: Familiarity teaching English, Maths, and/or Science
• Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
• Compliance: Enhanced DBS (we can facilitate this if needed) and 2+ professional references
• Location: You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even for remote / online jobs
• Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment

The SEND Tutor And Teacher Role And Responsibilities

• Provide in person, online / remote, and hybridMaths, English, or Science tuition to children, teenagers, and young people with SEMH and SEND needs, including MLD, SLD, PMLD, and other Additional Educational Needs
• Support pupils and students, ranging from KS1 - KS5 (as appropriate for your skills), referred by local authorities and schools by planning and delivering flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
• Plan and report for lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress
• We are on a mission to raise the standard of education provided to young people with SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties), SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties), and PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties).
