Job summary

Leonardo UK is seeking an experienced Programme Manager to lead the Typhoon Development IPT within the EW Combat Air Sector. You will coordinate international partners, manage cross-functional teams, and ensure delivery across the lifecycle, from bid governance to product qualification.

Travel across Europe is anticipated. The role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a proven track record in complex project management, with a focus on cost control, governance, and talent

Qualifications

• APM PMQ qualification desirable
• Degree or equivalent required
• Strong financial controls and project financial management experience
• Ability to manage multi-disciplined teams including engineering, operations, quality, procurement, commercial, planning and sales
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Experience with project management including portfolio management, schedule risk analysis and earned value analysis
• Strong relationship management with internal and external stakeholders
• Advocate for psychological safety and knowledge sharing
• Growth mindset and bias to action
• Strategic thinker with history of solving complex problems

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire teams to achieve excellence across the Typhoon development IPT
• Oversee planning, resourcing, execution and delivery aligned to the 5-year business plan
• Drive innovation and best practices to improve processes and delivery
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders for seamless lifecycle delivery
• Apply governance across bids and project delivery
• Manage budgets with cost-effective solutions while maintaining quality
• Develop talent and foster high-performing autonomous teams
• Think strategically to shape EW Combat Air and the EW LOB's future
