Job description

The Recruitment Crowd is currently recruiting on behalf of our well-known and industry-leading client based in the Barnsley area. We are looking for multiple HGV Class 1 Drivers (CAT C+E) to join the team.

Job Details:

• Hours: Nights, Monday to Sunday, with various start times. Average shift length of 12 hours.
• Job Type: Ongoing.

The Role:

• Trunking between depots, ensuring timely and safe parcel deliveries.
• Reversing in the yard and maneuvering vehicles with precision.
• Conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle roadworthiness and compliance.
• Adhering to traffic laws, regulations, and company policies for safety.
• Communicating effectively with dispatch and logistics teams for timely deliveries and pickups.

Requirements:

• Full UK driving license with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E).
• Valid and current DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• New passes welcome!
• No more than 6 points on license (minor offences only).
• Successful completion of assessment, including theory (driver’s hours and road laws questionnaires) and practical (yard reversing and driving test).
• Full understanding of WTD legislation.
