Job summary

The MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge invites applications for a Research Support Officer to join Buzz Baum's group. The role centers on evolutionary cell biology and archaeal cell biology in Sulfolobus and Asgard archaea.

The candidate should have an undergraduate degree (Masters preferred) with lab experience and a collaborative approach to working within a team. This is a fixed-term appointment for 15 months.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree required, Masters preferred.
• Lab experience, especially with microbial cells, is advantageous.
• Experience with phylogenetic approaches and omics-scale data is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support evolutionary cell biology studies in archaeal systems.
• Assist in studying cell organisation, growth and division in Sulfolobus and Asgard archaea.
