Job summary

The Ned is seeking an Events Waiter/Team Leader for its dynamic events spaces in London. You will deliver tailored hospitality for weddings, meetings, and corporate events, acting as the friendly face of guest experience and guiding agency staff to uphold The Ned’s high service standards.

Responsibilities

• Report to Events Operations leadership and act as the friendly face of guest experience.
• Provide outstanding hospitality and tailor service to each event.
• Answer guest queries with menu recommendations to ensure exceptional experiences.
• Set up and tear down events from start to finish in a Grade I listed venue.
• Lead and collaborate with agency staff to deliver high service standards.
• Assist in preparing linen, glassware, and service ware between events.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness for guests, teammates, and agency helpers.
• Be flexible with shifts, mainly afternoons and evenings.

Waiters on the events floor at The Ned are the smiling faces looking after the guests in any of our function rooms, set in the bank’s former grand meeting rooms on our gorgeous 6th floor events space. Each event we host is different, so you’ll be delivering the perfect tailored service for your guests - whether that’s a wedding, a business meeting, a corporate celebration, or anything in between.

Who we are…

The Ned and Ned’s Club are a global collection of hotels, clubs, spas, and restaurants for like-minded individuals to meet, work and have a good time.

The Ned launched in 2017 in the heart of the City, in the former Midland Bank headquarters. The Ned City of London houses Ned’s Club - a private members’ space, gym and rooftop - alongside a public spa, a whole floor of event spaces, ten restaurants and bars and 248 hotel bedrooms.

Reporting into Events Operations leadership team and as the friendly face of the guest experience you will:

• Provide outstanding hospitality to our guests, tailoring your service to deliver the exceptional experiences that The Ned is known for
• Using your unrivalled knowledge of our menus, you’ll answer all guests queries and provide recommendations to make sure every guest receives the perfect meal
• Set up and tear down each event from start to finish, taking care of our grade I listed venue
• Our core events team is small but mighty, and the rest of the team will be filled out by top class agency staff. As a part of the Ned, you will support and lead the agency team to help them deliver the level of service and standards that our event guests will expect
• Our events spaces often need flipping quickly between events, so you may need to assist the following team with preparing linen, glassware, silver etc for upcoming events
• Maintain a safe and clean environment, protecting our guests, your teammates, and our agency helpers from any possible harm
• Our events space can be busy Monday to Sunday and has late finishing times, so a degree of flexibility is preferred. Shifts will vary, but are mainly in the afternoons and evenings

• You’ll have a fantastic personality, engaging with our events guests to give them an exceptional service
• A big part of this job is supporting our agency support teams, so a welcoming personality and ability to guide others is essential
• Great all-round food and drinks knowledge is an advantage, but we can teach you everything you need to know about our menus
