Job summary

Ashgate Hospice, based in North Derbyshire, is seeking an Events Assistant to support planning and delivery of a diverse events portfolio, including the Sparkle Night Walk. You will work closely with the Events Fundraisers and the Events and Community Fundraising Manager to coordinate activities and engage supporters.

The role requires a friendly, highly organised person who can manage multiple tasks, respond to enquiries, and help deliver memorable fundraising events, with some flexibility for

Qualifications

  • Ability to live the Hospice’s values.
  • Excellent relationship management skills.
  • Knowledge of the North Derbyshire community.
  • Confidence to effectively communicate with a wide range of people.
  • Highly organised with the ability to plan and prioritise workload.
  • Experience of using a database to manage relationships through accurate record keeping.
  • Flexible approach to working outside of normal working hours (Time in lieu is granted).

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the planning of Ashgate’s events portfolio and take the lead in planning and delivering each event, including materials and equipment checks.
  • Manage key areas for each event for the Events Fundraisers and ensure due diligence on suppliers and health and safety best practices.
  • Attend project planning meetings with progress updates, risks and issues for your area.
  • Act as deputy for Hospice organised events for the Event Fundraisers.
  • Prepare and deliver clear briefings so staff and volunteers understand their roles.
  • Assist with event set-up and post-event derigging, ensuring spaces and equipment are safe.
  • Build and maintain relationships with event participants to support a strong supporter journey.
