Job Description:

The Events Operations Manager will be an essential part of the newly formed central Event Operations team within the Office of the CMO to support and drive the full breadth of the organisation's event operations needs across all teams and business units.

This role will be instrumental in driving impactful event execution with standardised event processes, scalable operations, and exceptional event experiences. The Events Operations Manager will oversee a full range of events, including third-party sponsorship, own-hosted events, and everything in between.

You will continually evolve the event strategy and playbook to ensure maximum presence at events, and work in partnership with stakeholders to promote events and drive attendance and engagement across email marketing, social media, PR, and sales enablement/promotion.

What you'll be doing:

  • Build a holistic overview of the overall events calendar, considering target audiences, propositions, locations, and timings.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external vendors, and event organisers to build event strategies that align with business and marketing goals, ensuring flawless execution.
  • Early event planning to define goals, target audiences, key messaging, and resource requirements.
  • Recommend, manage, and design multiple activations surrounding events to engage customers and prospects.
  • Manage all aspects of event planning, including vendor management, budget tracking, creative development, timeline creation, and on-site coordination.
  • Oversee event supply chain deliverables, including merchandise, venues, creative, staffing, printing, furniture, lighting, AV, and social media.
  • Ensure all owned projects are delivered on time and within budget, managing event budgets and tracking expenses accurately.
  • Define timelines, key inputs, and outputs for each deliverable, managing multiple projects and tasks efficiently.
  • Continuously reassess projects to ensure objectives are met, considering risk and crisis scenarios, and develop contingency plans.
  • Ensure all internal stakeholders are effectively managed and project momentum is maintained.
  • Develop standardised event processes, templates, and playbooks for various event types, both physical and virtual.
  • Establish and manage event budgeting frameworks.
  • Develop standardised reporting templates, track KPIs, and measure success, with a focus on pipeline contribution.
  • Oversee event technology platforms, ensuring seamless integration into CRM.
  • Manage vendor negotiations, including contract review and administration with the Legal team, and onboarding of event suppliers into finance.
  • Source, brief, and manage suppliers such as venues, designers, AV providers, event organisers, and more.
  • Create and maintain a centralised event operations knowledge base, standardising documentation and implementing version control processes.
  • Compile data and create standardised reporting pre- and post-event, providing insights on ROI and effectiveness with recommendations for improvement.

What we're looking for:

  • Extensive experience in event marketing.
  • Ability to strategise and implement event ideas while being goal-oriented and results-driven.
  • Innovation and creativity, staying up-to-date with industry trends and bringing fresh ideas to events.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a strong understanding of the importance of accuracy in event marketing and management.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
  • Commercial acumen, focusing on innovative strategies to maximise event impact and prioritising results.
  • Strong data-driven approach, committed to using analytics to drive decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both internally with teams and externally with clients and partners.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, fast-growth B2B tech environment.
  • Experience with teams across multiple locations and cultures.
  • Familiarity with marketing technology (e.g., CRM/HubSpot, event management platforms, CMS).
  • Knowledge of tools like Atlassian Jira, Confluence, and monday.com.

Salary: £30,000 - £45,000 a year
