Overview

JOB TITLE: Event Officer - FTC

£26,250.00 per annum

The Royal Armouries is the United Kingdom’s national museum of arms and armour and one of the most important collections of its type in the world, housed at its headquarters and flagship museum in Leeds, its historic home at the Tower of London, and the Victorian Fort Nelson in Hampshire.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Events Officer to join the existing Events and Live interpretation team on a fixed term contract until April 2027.

Reporting to the Events and Live Interpretation Manager.

Based at Royal Armouries in Leeds, you will play a central role in the creative development, administration and delivery of an engaging and educational events programme, ensuring our collection is at the heart of what we do.

Working with colleagues from across the organisation and with external partners both locally and nationally, the Events Officer ensures we meet and exceed the expectations of our diverse audiences both onsite and off. In particular, co-ordinating and delivering an events programme to engage our current visitors and to attract new and hard-to-reach audiences.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate must be able to work flexibly, be highly organised and self-motivated with a proven ability to work to tight deadlines. They must be an effective and professional communicator, able to engage with stakeholders and build relationships at all levels across the organisation.

Hours

  • This position is a fixed term contract, working full time, 36 hours per week, 5 days out of 7. Weekend, Bank Holiday and evening working will be required, as will some travel.
  • The role will predominantly be office based at the museum in Leeds.
