Job description

We are currently recruiting for an Events Manager to work on a hybrid basis, two/three days from our HQ in Coventry and the remainder working remotely from home.

This key role is offered on an initial fixed term contract until February 2026 and has responsibility for being part of a wider team that delivers a variety of events in the UK and overseas, both on a face-to-face basis and using digital platforms. We are looking for an engaging and confident individual with proven experience in event management, highly organised and able to multi-task. An in-house agency background would be beneficial, along with a full UK driving license and the flexibility to travel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the delivery of a defined event portfolio of large and/or complex events both in the UK, overseas and online.
  • Develop and deliver operational plans, tactical strategies and processes to fulfil needs of organisation, sector and/or function.
  • Lead event working groups to plan and deliver a designated event portfolio, including travelling to and attending events whether in the UK or overseas as required.
  • Ensure that events are aligned to organisational communication plans and recommend actions to enhance effectiveness where appropriate.
  • Manage and develop relationships with in-house teams, external suppliers, agencies and partners.
  • Contribute to actions that foster a collaborative culture within the team and the AHDB corporate vision.
  • Constantly ensure consistent, high-quality output and AHDB brand integrity.
  • Ensure the AHDB brand is prominent and in line with guidelines on all events.
  • Ensure relevant communication material and AHDB staff are fully briefed and present at events.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Knowledgeable/qualified in events management with evidence of practical experience, ideally including conference and exhibitions.
  • Knowledge of latest innovation in events planning, and delivery including digital platforms, programme production and stand build.
  • Excellent project planning, communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to travel across the UK and overseas.
  • Full UK driving licence.
