ABOUT CATF

Clean Air Task Force (CATF) is a nonprofit organization working to safeguard against the worst impacts of climate change by catalyzing the rapid global development and deployment of low-carbon energy and other climate-protecting technologies. This is accomplished through research and analysis, public advocacy leadership, and partnership with the private sector. CATF is highly respected for its deep expertise and research on energy and industrial systems and potential strategies, technologies, and policies that can radically shrink their impact on the planet's atmosphere. Our team of experts and advocates (and global network of subject matter experts and civil society partners) put this research and knowledge into action by designing and enacting public policies that drive toward zero emissions. We also support policies and work directly with private industry to innovate in technology to make the path to zero emissions swift and affordable. CATF has offices in Boston, Washington D.C., and Brussels, with staff working virtually around the world.

ROLE

CATF is seeking an Events Manager for a one-year contract to support the planning, execution, and management of events across Europe. • Assist the Events and Engagement Director in the development and execution of event plans that align with CATF's advocacy, fundraising, and communications goals
  • Provide logistical support, including venue selection, contract negotiation, vendor coordination, catering, audiovisual setup, and travel arrangements in line with CATF's policies
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners, including policymakers, industry representatives, and funders, to ensure seamless event execution
  • Support the development of event agendas, assist in identifying speakers, and contribute to content creation

  • Work closely with the communications team to promote events, including drafting invitations, developing promotional materials, and managing registration processes
  • Provide on-site event support, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring a smooth experience for attendees
  • Assist in tracking event budgets, monitoring expenses, and ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining high-quality standards

Post-event evaluation and reporting

  • Gather feedback from attendees, speakers, and stakeholders to assess the success of events
  • Conduct post-event evaluations and report key outcomes to inform future event strategies
  • Maintain records of events, including attendee lists, post-event reports, and financial summaries

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of event planning and management experience, preferably in a nonprofit, advocacy, or policy-driven organization
  • Bachelor's degree in event management, communications, public relations, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage diverse stakeholders
  • Experience supporting event budgets and negotiating contracts
  • Proficiency in event technology tools, including virtual event platforms and registration software
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability in dynamic environments
  • Experience working in an international organization with a good understanding of different cultural norms and practices
  • Ability to thrive in a remote, multicultural team environment who can work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Proactive and self-motivated with strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and shifting priorities
  • Experience organizing policy-related events, conferences, or workshops
  • Familiarity with climate, energy, and environmental policy landscapes
  • Proficiency in additional European languages is a plus
  • Diplomatic protocol knowledge would be advantageous
  • Passion for CATF's mission

Compensation and Location:

This is a full-time, remote position, flexible within Europe, with a preference for candidates located in London, UK or Brussels, Belgium.
