Job summary

St Richard’s Hospice is seeking an Events Fundraiser for a 12-month maternity-cover contract in Worcester. This role is 22.5 hours per week across three days, based at Wildwood Drive, WR5 2QT.

You will develop event plans, coordinate venues and volunteers, monitor budgets and evaluate outcomes, ensuring a superb supporter experience. You will work with colleagues across the Income Generation Team and Digital Marketing to deliver memorable events and maintain excellent relationships with

St Richard’s Hospice is at the heart of the Worcestershire community, providing specialist care and support to people with illnesses which cannot be cured and support for the people who are important to them.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, organised and creative Events Fundraiser to join our Income Generation Team on a 12 month maternity-cover basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys bringing people together, delivering memorable events and building strong relationships with supporters.

From developing event plans and coordinating suppliers, venues and volunteers, to monitoring budgets and evaluating event performance, you’ll oversee events from initial planning through to post-event stewardship.

You’ll also work closely with colleagues across the Income Generation Team, Digital Marketing & Communications and the wider hospice to ensure our supporters receive an excellent experience at every stage.

This post requires a Standard Disclosure and Barring Service check.

About you

You’ll bring:

• Experience of planning, organising and delivering events.
• Excellent and confident interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
• Highly organised, able to manage multiple tasks or events simultaneously.
• Knowledge and understanding of the importance of providing an excellent supporter experience.
• Knowledge and understanding of budget management, income generation and event performance.
• A compassionate, people-focused attitude — especially when working with those fundraising in memory of loved ones.
• Willingness to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends.
• Full driving licence and ability to travel across Worcestershire.

Although not compulsory, the ideal candidate will have previous experience within the charity sector, delivering income generating activities, with knowledge and awareness of the fundraising regulations and codes of practice.
