A cultural organization in Scotland is seeking a part time Events & Exhibitions Coordinator to help coordinate and deliver flagship programmes, such as Spring Fling Open Studios. The ideal candidate will have a passion for visual storytelling, inclusive working practices, and enhancing community engagement. This role offers the flexibility of some home working and is part of a collaborative team environment.

Key information.
Job Title: Events & Exhibitions Coordinator
Reporting to: Events & Exhibitions Development Manager (Creative Director & Upland CIC Board of Directors)
Based at: Upland office, Gracefield Arts Centre, Dumfries, DG1 1JQ (with some home working if desired)
Salary: £26,000 (FTE 36 hours per week) on a pro rata for 14 hours per week (2 days)
Job Purpose - Overview
- Play a central role in coordinating and delivering Upland’s flagship programmes - Spring Fling Open Studios and Upland made, our annual winter art & craft fair.
- Work collaboratively as part of a small, supportive team, under the guidance of the Events & Exhibitions Development Manager and the wider Upland staff and board.
- Contribute to building meaningful partnerships and collaborations that enhance community engagement and reflect Upland’s values.
- Bring a strong interest in visual storytelling and communications, offering ideas and feedback (with support from the core team and freelancers) across social media, print, and promotional materials.
- Demonstrate a genuine passion for inclusive working, including awareness of and sensitivity to neurodiversity, embedding these considerations into events and communications wherever possible.
- Show curiosity and enthusiasm for contributing to the development of new event formats and exhibitions that reflect Upland’s mission, celebrating excellence, experimentation, and the creative potential of our rural context.
