Job description

As Events and Conference Services Manager, you are responsible for overseeing booking and servicing catering events for the hotel, as well as servicing group events booked by others. Your role includes managing all aspects of client liaison and building new client relationships within the marketplace continuously.

What you will do:
  1. Oversee the booking and servicing of catering events for the hotel and group events booked by others.
  2. Manage all aspects of client liaison and develop new client relationships.
  3. Work with both group and private clients to plan event details.
  4. Own the conversion and management of assigned inquiries.
  5. Conduct compelling show rounds to secure business.
  6. Collaborate with banqueting and kitchen teams to review and update strategies dynamically.
  7. Proactively reconnect with previous clients and event bookers for future opportunities.
  8. Support the Director of Events with weekly/monthly tasks such as catering forecasts, event pipelines, and sales strategy meetings.
  9. Participate in meetings with hotel staff and clients, including group resume meetings, banquet event order meetings, pre-convention meetings, planning visits, and menu tastings.
  10. Act as the liaison for all vendor/supplier needs related to clients (e.g., Audio Visual, Florists, DMC).

  • Previous experience as an Events Manager within a 5-star hotel or luxury restaurant.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective liaising with clients and team members.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high standards.
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills to nurture and inspire staff.
  • Proven experience in training and developing team members.
  • Professional personal presentation and demeanor.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills across teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reports, presentations, and meetings.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
