Job description

Chichester College Group

Events Co-ordinator (Maternity Cover) [Ref: CC0512]

£26,716 - £29,196 per annum

37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Chichester College Group (CCG) is on the lookout for a proactive, people-savvy, detail-loving Events Co-ordinator to join our buzzing Marketing & Communications Team. With seven campuses across West and East Sussex, no two days (or venues!) are the same.

In this role, you'll take the reins on everything from employer engagement events and student awards ceremonies to open days and graduation celebrations. You’ll help bring our colleges to life through unforgettable experiences that celebrate, inform and inspire.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading the planning, logistics and delivery of events that elevate CCG’s reputation and student experience.
  • Managing suppliers, bookings, guest lists, staffing and everything in between.
  • Being the friendly, solutions-focused go-to on the day - clipboard optional, calmness essential.
  • Collaborating with curriculum teams, employers, and stakeholders to bring event goals to life.
  • Creating event materials, briefing documents and post-event reports that feed into our continuous improvement culture.
  • Ensuring everything runs like clockwork - with a bit of sparkle thrown in.

What You’ll Bring

  • A relevant qualification (Events Management or similar) plus hands-on experience running events big and small.
  • Proven communication and organisational skills, with the ability to multitask and stay cool under pressure.
  • Confidence using Office 365 and event platforms (booking systems, CRMs).
  • Familiarity with risk assessments, GDPR, and budgeting (or ready to learn!)
  • A flexible attitude and a desire to work with a fantastic team.

Why join us?

You’ll be part of a creative and supportive marketing team that loves what they do and delivers work that makes a difference. You'll get the opportunity to shape a brand that's at the heart of community, education, and transformation - all while growing your own skills in a vibrant, future-focused environment.

Our Staff Benefits

We have a fantastic range of staff benefits, highly competitive against what is offered by the private sector and other organisations, including:

  • Local Government Pension Scheme - the Group contributes 20.4% of your actual pensionable pay.
  • 25 days annual leave, increasing to 28 days in line with continuous service, plus bank holidays and college closure days over the Christmas period which are not deducted from annual leave entitlement and a wellbeing day. Plus, the opportunity to purchase up to 5 days additional leave.
  • Discount schemes - including discounts on shopping, restaurants, travel and onsite facilities such as our gym and First Steps Childcare nurseries (specific campuses only).
  • Family friendly policies - including enhanced maternity, paternity and adoption pay (dependant on continuous service).
  • Continuous professional development opportunities - including development days, funded apprenticeships and access to a range of other courses and activities.
  • And much more - check out the Staff Benefits booklet attached to this advert for more information about our fantastic range of benefits available to staff.

Working in a vibrant and inclusive further education college is an inspiring experience. Our staff have a relentless focus on delivering outstanding teaching, learning and support, where you'll encounter a diverse student body, a positive atmosphere, ample support services, innovative teaching methods, community engagement and a celebration of individual differences. It's an environment that fosters personal growth and collaboration, to change lives through learning.

We actively encourage applications from those seeking job shares, or other flexible working arrangements. Whether you're balancing caring responsibilities, pursuing personal goals, or simply seeking a healthier rhythm between life and work, we’re here to support you. Our roles are designed with adaptability in mind and at the heart of our people strategy is a commitment to an inclusive environment where different ways of working are not only accommodated but celebrated. If flexibility matters to you, you'll find a welcoming home here at CCG.

This post is for a fixed term period of maternity cover for a maximum of one year, or the return, resignation or replacement of the current post holder, whichever is sooner.
