Events and Communications Manager

Location: Manchester

Hybrid: 2 days in the office per week

Fixed Term: 15-month fixed contract. To start ASAP

We’re looking for an experienced Events & Communications Manager to lead our client’s external corporate events. This role supports their business development team, with a strong focus on raising brand awareness and reputation in the sector.

You'll bring solid events management skills, including project coordination and logistics, event promotion, sponsorship, content development, and collateral creation.

Event Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of our client’s monthly events program.
  • Manage event logistics such as venue bookings, marketing materials, invoice processing, and packing lists to support sector-specific exhibitions.
  • Organize internal engagement events, including sourcing venues.
  • Prepare and manage budgets for all Business Development-related events.
  • Serve as the primary contact for event-related inquiries.
  • Support event delivery with on-the-day coordination and oversee the event team.
  • Evaluate event performance, gather feedback, and suggest improvements.
  • Collaborate on developing an external corporate events calendar.
  • Plan events from concept to delivery, documenting and reviewing each to meet objectives.
  • Oversee hiring of event personnel when needed.
  • Monitor and assess event success, gather feedback, and host debriefs.
Communications Responsibilities
  • Lead communication and marketing strategies for events and projects.
  • Manage event promotion, including invitations, RSVPs, social media, and collaboration with the BD team.
  • Develop sponsorship opportunities and secure sponsors.
  • Coordinate with internal teams for aligned messaging.
  • Create marketing and communication strategies with the Head of PR & Comms.
  • Develop internal communication plans with the People Team.
Essential Requirements and Skills
  • At least 3 years’ experience in event management and communications planning.
  • Strong logistical coordination and strategic planning skills.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively.
Desirable Requirements and Skills
  • Experience in B2B marketing and engagement strategies.
  • Leadership experience managing teams or direct reports.
  • Proficiency in Zoom Webinar, Salesforce, Canva, or similar tools.
  • Experience in agency environments.
