Job description

Events and Communications Manager

Location: Birmingham

Hybrid: 2 days in the office per week

Contract: 15-month fixed-term contract, starting ASAP

We are seeking an experienced Events & Communications Manager to lead external corporate events for our client, We Are Adam, based in Birmingham. The role involves supporting business development, increasing brand awareness, and managing a variety of events and communications strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead planning and execution of the monthly events program.
  2. Manage logistics, including venue bookings, marketing materials, invoicing, and event packing.
  3. Organize internal engagement events and source venues.
  4. Prepare and oversee event budgets.
  5. Serve as the main contact for event inquiries.
  6. Coordinate on-the-day event activities and oversee the event team.
  7. Evaluate event performance and gather feedback for improvements.
  8. Develop an external events calendar in collaboration with senior management.
  9. Handle hiring of event personnel as needed.
  10. Monitor and assess event success, hosting debriefs and implementing improvements.

Communications Responsibilities:

  1. Lead marketing and communication strategies for events and projects.
  2. Manage event promotion, including invitations, RSVPs, and social media collaboration.
  3. Develop sponsorship packages and secure sponsors.
  4. Coordinate messaging with internal teams.
  5. Create marketing strategies with PR & Communications teams.
  6. Support internal communications and recruitment outreach efforts.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • At least 3 years in event management and communications planning.
  • Strong logistical, strategic, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in B2B marketing and engagement strategies.
  • Leadership experience managing teams or direct reports.
  • Proficiency with Zoom Webinar, Salesforce, Canva, and agency environments.
