Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Freelance (Technical) Project Manager to oversee array of projects; this could be a live event or a technical project in another guise. In depth knowledge is not essential but a core understanding is of events. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning and Coordination: Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. Coordinate with lighting, sound, video and other stakeholders to ensure all project components align with the overall objectives.
- Budget Management: Monitor project budgets, manage costs, and provide regular financial updates. Identify potential cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all projects meet the highest standards of quality and luxury. Conduct regular site inspections and address any issues promptly.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies. Resolve conflicts and handle issues that arise during the project lifecycle. Produce custom RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) on a per project basis.
- Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, updating them on project progress, milestones, and any changes. Ensure client satisfaction and manage expectations effectively.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including contracts, profit and loss, and progress reports. Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders.
- Team Management: Lead and motivate project teams, ensuring that all members understand their roles and responsibilities. Foster a collaborative and productive working environment.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all projects comply with relevant safety regulations and safety standards. Implement and oversee safety protocols on site.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of project management experience or as lead in an event production environment.
- Education:
- Certifications: PRINCE2 (Project Management) or similar certification is advantageous.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Office, Photoshop, or similar). Familiarity with CAD/SketchUp software is a plus.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills. Ability to inspire and lead project teams to achieve project goals.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Capacity to make decisions under pressure.
- Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail, ensuring that all aspects of the project are executed flawlessly.
