Job description

Job Description

First Response Group is currently seeking Spectator Safety Stewards to join our experienced and professional event teams. We provide crowd safety personnel to a wide variety of events across the local area, including major sporting fixtures, concerts in stadiums and arenas, outdoor festivals, greenfield events, and corporate functions.

We are looking for individuals who hold a minimum NVQ Level 2 in Spectator Safety and are committed to delivering safety and service at the highest standard.

As a Spectator Safety Steward, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for all attendees. You will be responsible for managing crowd movement, ensuring compliance with venue regulations, and responding quickly and professionally to any incidents or emergencies.

About the Role
  1. Maintain a safe and secure environment: managing crowd movement, monitoring behaviour, and ensuring compliance with all event and venue regulations.
  2. Respond: promptly and professionally to incidents, emergencies, or any unexpected situations, following established protocols and procedures.
  3. Deliver: exceptional customer service by assisting attendees with directions, answering questions, and resolving concerns in a courteous and helpful manner.
  4. Provide a visible and reassuring presence throughout the event to deter antisocial behaviour and promote a positive atmosphere.
  5. Communicate: effectively with fellow stewards, supervisors, and event staff to ensure smooth coordination and efficient operations.
  6. Support: entry and exit procedures, including ticket checks, bag searches, and access control to restricted areas.
  7. Assist with emergency evacuations or crowd dispersal when necessary, ensuring public safety remains the top priority.
  8. Observe and report: any safety hazards, suspicious activity, or incidents, completing accurate and timely incident and accident reports.
  9. Uphold the values and standards of First Response Group by acting with integrity, professionalism, and respect at all times.
Requirements
  • Hold a minimum NVQ Level 2 qualification in Spectator Safety (or equivalent).
  • Present a smart, professional appearance at all times.
  • Possess strong communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently and clearly with the public and team members.
  • Demonstrate a customer-focused attitude, ensuring a positive experience for all event attendees.
  • Work effectively as part of a collaborative and supportive team.
  • Show a high level of commitment, reliability, and punctuality.
  • Be confident and accurate in completing incident and accident reports.
  • Display a willingness to learn and grow, with an openness to ongoing training and development.
