Job description

I am looking for a commercially minded, detail-orientated Event Operations Lead to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of globally recognised exhibitions and events within the Fintech space.

This is an opportunity to take full ownership of large-scale event operations, drive revenue alongside the sales team, and influence the commercial strategy of an industry-leading brand.

Key Responsibilities:

Event Execution & Operations

  • Full ownership of exhibition and event delivery from product concept to live execution
  • Manage floor plans, live sales data, and all daily operational tasks
  • Act as the central point of contact during live events, managing multiple priorities and teams

Sales Team Partnership

  • Provide the sales team with product decks, costings, pricing, and margin targets
  • Collaborate closely to update inventory, track live revenue, and identify growth opportunities
  • Join weekly reviews with the Sales VP to align on commercial strategy

Commercial Oversight & Supplier Management

  • Negotiate supplier costs and manage budgets with complete accountability
  • Build and maintain robust revenue models and financial plans

Stakeholder Management & Networking

  • Build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Represent the company at networking drinks, happy hours, and client events
  • Ensure transparent communication around commercial performance and event delivery

Leadership & Mentorship

  • Lead one direct report and mentor junior team members
  • Bring gravitas to internal meetings and drive strategic conversations

The Ideal Candidate:

  • 5+ years in large-scale exhibition and event operations (5K+ attendee events)
  • Proven experience in floor planning and global logistics
  • Background in working cross-functionally with commercial teams
  • Strong supplier negotiation, budgeting, and commercial planning skills
  • Calm under pressure, confident and solution-oriented
  • Transparent communicator with a collaborative approach
  • Excellent networking and relationship-building skills
