Job description

Visa is seeking an experienced Event Marketing Specialist to join our Europe Events team to drive impactful programming that aligns with our business priorities. This role requires a customer-centric focus and a strategic mindset in developing and executing B2B event programming that supports business priorities, fosters brand engagement, and generates business opportunities. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of collaborating with key internal stakeholders in producing events aligned to strategic objectives and desired outcomes. Responsibilities may include:

  1. Event Programming: Develop, plan, and execute event programming for proprietary (Visa-hosted) and industry (third-party) events, ensuring alignment with sales, marketing, and communication priorities.
  2. Cross-Functional & Regional Collaboration: Partner with internal stakeholders across functions (marketing, sales, product, communications, leadership) and regions to define event objectives, messaging, and target audiences.
  3. Content Development: Curate compelling content and engagement formats with communications and subject matter experts that deliver value to attendees and drive engagement.
  4. Lead Generation: Design B2B event experiences that maximize lead capture, nurture, and conversion opportunities for the sales team.
  5. Performance Measurement: Establish KPIs, measure event performance, and provide post-event analysis and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  6. Project Management: Drive workstreams to ensure projects stay on track, consulting with leadership as required.
  7. Vendor & Partner Management: Manage relationships with event organizers, partners, and vendors for seamless event execution.
  8. Brand Consistency: Ensure events reflect Visa's brand playbook, maintaining consistency across regions and event types.
  9. Budget Management: Oversee workstream budgets and negotiate contracts.
  10. Market Trends: Stay informed on global event trends, technologies, and best practices, applying innovative solutions to enhance event impact.

Must possess a passion for events and an in-depth understanding of how event engagement bolsters brand and supports business objectives. Candidates should demonstrate:

  • Creative approach to developing event concepts with a desire to innovate and improve all aspects of events.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills, especially with senior stakeholders.
  • Exceptional project management, organization, and planning skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive, self-directed personality capable of problem-solving and innovating new procedures.
  • Strong customer orientation, delivering impactful events for clients and attendees.
  • Ability to facilitate domestic and international programs, with 10-15% overnight travel, overtime, and weekend work.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 2 years with an Advanced Degree, or 8+ years in B2B event development, production, operations, budgeting, and measurement.
  • Proven track record of planning and executing engaging B2B events that drive business outcomes.
  • Strong tradeshow/exhibition management experience and experience in creating impactful experiences with product, innovation, and marketing teams.
  • Experience managing lead generation, data, and CRM systems like MS Dynamics, Salesforce, Eloqua, Marketo, Cvent, Swoogo.
