Here at Optum, we are excited to share that we are currently recruiting for an Events Manager to join us on a permanent basis.

Working with our customers, we are leading the way in the delivery of patient-centred, connected, digitally enabled health and care services. Our customers and partners are using our solutions in all health and care settings, from GP surgeries and community care to high street pharmacies, hospitals, clinics, not-for-profit organisations, and specialist services. We are committed to developing the next generation of healthcare technology that will truly make a difference

What you’ll do

As part of our dynamic team, you will play a vital role in supporting customer retention, driving brand engagement, and delivering high-impact events that elevate our market presence.

You will take the lead in planning, organising, and delivering a wide range of events, from webinars and user groups to large-scale conferences. This role is ideal for a highly organised, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for delivering exceptional event experiences.

While this role sits within a broader marketing team, your primary focus will be the end-to-end execution of our events and conferences.

Other key responsibilities and accountabilities will include:

Events:

  • Plan, manage, and execute a range of events including webinars, user groups, trade shows, and large-scale conferences.
  • Own the event lifecycle—from pre-event planning and logistics through to onsite execution and post-event follow-up.
  • Liaise with venues, suppliers, and third-party vendors to ensure all aspects of event delivery run smoothly and within budget.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across marketing, sales, and product teams to align event objectives with business goals.
  • Manage delegate communications, registration processes, and event promotion to drive attendance and engagement.
  • Ensure a consistent and high-quality brand presence across all events, including signage, collateral, and presentations.
  • Evaluate event success through post-event analysis and reporting, using insights to drive continuous improvement.

Marketing Support for Events:

  • Develop compelling event messaging and promotional materials across digital and traditional marketing channels.
  • Write clear and engaging copy for event invitations, landing pages, and follow-up communications.
  • Support the preparation of event kits, exhibition stands, and branded merchandise.

Who You’ll Be

We want to make sure you’re set for success, so the key skills and experience we’re looking for are below:

  • Proven experience in planning and managing events, ideally including large-scale conferences.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences.
  • A creative mindset with strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering outstanding attendee experiences.
  • Confidence in working with external suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience with event management platforms, CRM systems, or digital marketing tools is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of the health technology sector or the NHS is a plus, but not essential.
