A prestigious, award-winning barristers' chambers is seeking an experienced Event Manager to lead its events programme and develop client marketing activity.

You will take ownership of the strategy, planning, delivery and evaluation of a varied programme of high-quality events, ensuring each activity supports business development priorities, strengthens client relationships and enhances the chambers' reputation.

This role would suit someone from a barristers' chambers, legal, professional services, membership or other B2B environment. Direct legal-sector experience would be advantageous but is not essential.

Key Responsibilities
Events Strategy and Planning

Develop and deliver annual events and client marketing strategies aligned with business development goals.

Manage a busy schedule of events and related communications, balancing multiple priorities, budgets and resources with accuracy and control.

Introduce creative event concepts, formats, suppliers and approaches that suit and enhance each event.

Advise colleagues and members on event themes, topics, speakers and opportunities based on market trends and business priorities.

Set, manage and report on event budgets, performance, engagement, feedback and return on investment.

Event Delivery

Lead all aspects of physical and online events, from initial concept and planning through to on-the-day delivery and evaluation.

Coordinate programmes, speakers, content, briefings, venues, suppliers and event teams to consistently high standards.

Develop systems, processes and templates that improve the quality, consistency and efficiency of event delivery.

Lead internal events for members and employees, including social, learning, information-sharing and charity activities.

Client Marketing and Engagement

Build events into an integrated programme of client communications and engagement that supports valuable business relationships.

Deliver targeted event marketing campaigns and develop channels and tools for direct client marketing.

Work with the Digital and Marketing Executive to create or commission event-led content across email, digital and social channels.

Use CRM and engagement data to identify audiences, manage campaigns, assess performance and improve future activity.

Act as a brand guardian, ensuring all event communications, content and materials reflect the chambers' standards.

Stakeholder and Supplier Management

Build positive, productive relationships with members, colleagues, clients, law firms, sector bodies, partners and event attendees.

Act as the principal contact for internal and external stakeholders in relation to events and client marketing.

Manage and negotiate with suppliers and delivery partners, ensuring value for money, service quality and reliable delivery.

Work closely with the Marketing, Practice Management, Front of House and Facilities teams, and deputise for the Head of Communications and Marketing when required.

Significant experience in strategic events and client marketing within professional services, legal, membership or another relevant B2B environment.

A proven track record of delivering complex, high-profile physical and online events and related campaigns.

Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the confidence to manage multiple moving parts and uncertainties accurately.

Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence and earn the confidence of senior professionals.

Creativity in event conception, with experience introducing new ideas, formats, suppliers and approaches.

Experience using events and event-led content to support client marketing, business development and relationship building.

Experience using CRM systems, event data and insight to identify audiences, manage campaigns and assess return on investment.

Budget management, commercial negotiation and supplier contract management experience.

A keen eye for detail and the initiative to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.

Experience within a barristers' chambers or the wider legal market.

A formal events or project management qualification and experience creating or commissioning digital content, particularly for events.
