We have a fantastic opening for an Event Manager to join our Conventions team in Event Management.
You’ll be working across our convention centres, at the ICC in Birmingham City Centre and Vox on the NEC Campus in Solihull and also within the NEC with the Suite bookings. These venues provide conference and meeting space for up to 8,000 delegates, welcoming over 350,000 delegates every year! And you’ll be part of a first-class team that is renowned for delivering incredible events.
About The Role
We are looking for a fun-loving and vibrant Event Manager, who is passionate about delivering a consistently excellent experience to all, internally and externally. The portfolio of events you will work on will be wide ranging and key responsibilities of the role include taking full ownership of event planning, management and the delivery lifecycle on events across the ICC and the Vox.
Aspiring to lead from the front in delivering world class customer experience, striving to be an industry expert and competent in basic health and safety related matters for events, whilst learning and developing operational excellence is hopefully something that excites you.
Day to day you will…
- Evaluate each event upon allocation to ensure the event can be delivered, alongside any neighbouring events within the venues, to ensure the best client and delegate experience.
- Be responsible for high client satisfaction levels in conjunction with other colleagues on the events, identifying areas to add value to the client experience moving forward.
- Understand and collate relevant Health and Safety information (Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work etc), reviewing them, providing feedback and sharing risks to necessary Heads of Department & event floor colleagues.
About You
Our Ideal Candidate will….
- Have demonstrable experience of being a high performing Event Manager with similar clients, venues or industries.
- Be competent in financial management of events.
- Have an awareness of health and safety and possess Health and Safety qualifications such as IOSH
- Have excellent customer service skills
- Have good adaptability skills and be proficient at working in a fast-paced environment, working across several projects at a time.
