Description & Requirements For our E quity Sales Trading Europe division in London we are looking to hire a:
Event-driven Analyst / Salesperson
Your role in the team
Berenberg’s market leading European event-driven team are seeking an experienced analyst / salesperson to join the team. The successful applicant will be instrumental in generating event-driven content for the team’s hedge fund clients, liaising with internal sales and execution desks and ensuring the team’s views are disseminated across the market. Berenberg’s event-driven team are looking for applicants with a strong understanding of event-driven investing strategies and excellent ability to communicate in both written and verbal formats.
What will you do?

  • Research European deal situations across varied sectors and market caps
  • Communicate the team’s insights internally to sales and execution teams and externally to event-driven hedge fund clients
  • Liaise with Berenberg’s nearly 100 strong fundamental research department to provide clients with single stock and sector expertise
  • Help organise corporate access opportunities so that clients can meet companies with an event-driven angle to their investment case
  • Undertake daily tasks such as maintaining the team’s deal spreadsheets and contribute to the daily morning email

Who are we looking for?
  • Previous experience (either sell- or buy-side) analysing event-driven situations is required
  • The ability to analyse complex deal structures quickly and communicate succinctly
  • Advanced IT skills, including all standard Office applications
