Job description

As an Event Bartender at Scarborough Spa, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our bars during events, functions, and daily activities. From serving food and beverages to keeping the venue spotless, you’ll provide an outstanding experience for every guest. Your attention to detail, positive attitude, and commitment to excellent service will help make each event memorable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the smooth operation of bars, delivering top-tier service at all events and functions.
• Serve a variety of drinks, including alcoholic beverages, and assist with basic food preparation.
• Ensure that all stock is maintained, stored properly, and within date.
• Perform regular cleaning duties to ensure all equipment and public areas are maintained to the highest standards.
• Take responsibility for safety and hygiene, ensuring all health and safety regulations are followed.
• Handle stock deliveries, perform stock checks, and report any shortages.
• Set up event spaces, including arranging furniture and preparing room layouts as required.
• Support the sales of drinks, food, and other services, maximizing opportunities to enhance the customer experience.
• Be prepared to act as Fire Marshall in the event of an emergency evacuation.

About You:

We are looking for someone with:

• A good standard of education and a passion for delivering excellent customer service.
• Previous experience in a bar environment (desirable but not essential).
• A positive, self-motivated attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
• Strong communication skills and a willingness to engage with customers and colleagues alike.

It would be great if you also have:

• Personal License or First Aid Certificate.
• Level 2 Food Hygiene Certification.
• Experience with cash handling and sales procedures.
