Job summary

Waitrose & Partners in Morningside, Edinburgh, is hiring a Supermarket Assistant on a temporary, part-time basis (20 hours per week). The role includes night premium pay (£3.75/hr) for night hours and provides customer-focused, partner-led service.

Duties cover stock replenishment, online order fulfilment, and supporting the broader shop team. Excellent communication with customers and team members is essential, with prior customer-facing experience welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Stock replenishment - ensuring shelves are full and products are in the right place.
• Fulfilling online customer orders ready for drivers to deliver.
• Reducing wastage by following product due diligence and markdowns before sell-by dates.
• Working with the wider shop team to support checkout, Click & Collect and on-demand orders.
• Maintain a safe and tidy working environment with shopkeeping tasks.
