Job summary

Waitrose & Partners in Edinburgh is seeking a Supermarket Assistant to support shelves, online orders and customer service, helping our Partnership deliver great food experiences.

The role is 21.75 hours, Thursday to Saturday, 00:00–08:00. Pay starts at £13.00 per hour (£13.25 after 90 days); night premium of £3.75 per hour applies for night hours. This is a temporary contract and DBS checks may be required; we offer flexible working where possible.

Qualifications

• Clear communication with customers and team members.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Positive attitude and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Stock replenishment to keep shelves full and correctly placed.
• Fulfilling online orders for driver delivery.
• Reduce wastage through due diligence and managing sell-by dates.
• Support wider shop team (checkout, Click & Collect, on-demand orders).
• Maintain a safe and tidy working environment.
