Job summary

Warwickshire County Council is recruiting an Emergency Duty Team Family Advisor for countywide out-of-hours coverage. The role is part-time and involves evenings, weekends and bank holidays, with shifts that support safeguarding and urgent responses outside normal hours.

You will assess referrals, communicate with families and professionals, and provide signposting and advice to safeguard vulnerable children, young people and adults. DBS checks apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2–5 years' post-qualification experience within Children or Adult Services.
• Significant safeguarding experience for children, adults and vulnerable families.
• Excellent communication, active listening, engagement, resilience and report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Receive, screen and assess all incoming calls to the Emergency Duty Team.
• Prioritise incoming work, assess risk and make decisions with limited information.
• Maintain an in-depth knowledge of relevant children/adult legislation.
• Manage a specific shift safely and confidently; document accurately in the IT system.
• Work with families and professionals to provide timely advice and signpost to Adult Services or Family Connect.
