Job summary

St Edward’s Oxford is seeking an enthusiastic Visiting Teacher of Speech and Drama to inspire pupils and help them develop confidence, communication skills and theatrical ability. Hours are two evenings per week, 4.30pm to 9.00pm, with specific hours agreed at the start of each term.

The role focuses on engaging, supportive practice for young performers. You will deliver weekly Speech and Drama lessons, work with pupils on vocal warm-ups, text work, improvisation and performance technique, and

Qualifications

• Experience of teaching young people
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently
• Good understanding of the LAMDA syllabus

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging weekly Speech and Drama lessons to pupils individually or in pairs
• Support pupils working towards LAMDA examinations (grades 5–8) and help prepare for performances
• Plan weekly timetable and produce termly reports outlining progress and development
• Encourage pupils to follow individual pathways and participate in school events
