Job summary

Mind in West Essex is seeking a Sanctuary Support Worker to enhance mental health support within the Voluntary and Community Sector for individuals presenting to Crisis and Liaison teams via Sanctuary, Daylight and Night Owls. The role is community based to meet the needs of referrals from Crisis24 and Liaison & Home First.

You will work with Crisis staff and Mental Health Liaison teams to improve wellbeing and ensure safe onward referrals, while developing links with external agencies.

Qualifications

• Awareness of issues relating to mental health service provision.
• An understanding of mental health conditions.
• Experience of working with adults with care and support needs.
• Creative and flexible approach to working with individuals.

Responsibilities

• Improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing emotional crisis.
• Liaise with A&E and Crisis/Liaison teams to ensure smooth pathways.
• Increase early access to help for people in mental health crisis.
• Remain a source of independent support for all clients.
• Record accurate notes on the CRM system designated for the role.
