Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical/biological/clinical/medical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution
• Meets CLIA high complexity qualifications for testing personnel
• Diploma and/or transcripts must be provided
• Education will be verified
• Education outside the United States requires translation and foreign equivalency

Responsibilities

• Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling, testing, reporting and maintaining patient records
• Perform laboratory testing in a compliant manner
• Maintain regulatory knowledge pertaining to job duties
• Adhere to quality control policies and document calibrations and maintenance
• Take action on quality control or assurance issues as needed
• Maintain instruments and equipment per manufacturer specifications
• Maintain good documentation practices and clear records
• Perform proficiency testing in compliance with CLIA regulations
• Participate in continuing education and annual competency assessments
• Follow policies when test systems are not within acceptable performance levels
• Identify problems affecting test performance and report to supervisors
• Educate and train students, employees and residents on theory, safety, and test protocols
