Job summary

Enable is seeking a passionate Lifeguard to join the Active Communities team at Burntwood School in London. You will supervise evening Community Swim and women-only sessions, ensuring safety for children, young people and adults, and assist with poolside equipment.

This casual, on-site role runs up to 8 hours per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays during term time. A valid NPLQ with first aid and safeguarding knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• NPLQ (including first aid) required
• Knowledge of Swim England curriculum
• Safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults
• Experience lifeguarding in a leisure or swimming environment
• Experience working collaboratively in a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Reliable and punctual for weekly sessions
• Passion for swimming and working with communities

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety of participants in and around the pool
• Provide first aid when needed
• Identify hazards and prevent accidents per guidelines
• Set up, maintain and store equipment with staff
• Keep programme lead and instructors updated on sessions
• Commit to regular evening work during term time
• Adhere to HR policies and safety regulations
• Attend safeguarding training as required
• Pursue ongoing professional development
