Job summary

Frimley Park Hospital is seeking an evening housekeeper to join the housekeeping team for a nine-month contract. The role covers cleaning floors and surfaces across wards, handling waste, and some food service on wards.

Full training is provided, with prior housekeeping experience required and right to work in the UK for the full period. Key duties include deep cleaning, equipment maintenance, and stocking supplies while adhering to infection control procedures.

Qualifications

• Good literacy, numeracy and comprehension
• Previous housekeeping experience
• Knowledge of hygiene and COSHH procedures

Responsibilities

• Clean floors using machinery (vacuum, mop, sweep) and vacuum/carpet shampoo
• Dust high and low surfaces including ledges and furniture
• Sanitise baths, showers, hand basins, lavatories and bins
• Handle waste: collect, segregate, and tag waste per Trust policy
• Replace waste bags with correct colour code and keep containers clean
• Damp dust lockers, beds, tables and fittings
• Clean and sanitise light switches, mirrors and glass
• Replenish paper towels, toilet rolls, soap and dispensers
• Clean infected rooms following Infection Control procedures
• Carry out deep cleans and assist with curtain changes
• Prepare and serve breakfast/drinks to patients and load dishwasher
• Maintain cleaning equipment and report faults
