Job summary

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board is recruiting Domestic Assistants for the Wrexham Maelor Hospital to join the Domestic Services Department. The roles are part-time (20 hours per week) with a 4pm–8pm shift, on a rota that includes weekends. Per hour pay is circa £13.45, with enhanced rates on Saturdays and Sundays.

Qualifications

• Maintains standards of cleanliness of floors, furniture and fittings.
• Receives on-the-job training in hospital cleaning standards.
• Able to work as part of a rota including weekends.
• Uniform and protective clothing provided.

Responsibilities

• Maintain standards of cleanliness of floors, furniture and fittings.
• Carry out non-cleaning tasks (washing crockery, jugs and glasses; making beds with clean linen in staff accommodation).
• Operate cleaning equipment to achieve required cleanliness levels.
• Handle refuse for disposal.
• Replenish supplies of paper towels, toilet tissue, soap and moisturiser.
• Monitor stocks of cleaning materials and request supplies as needed.
• Organise day-to-day workload to complete tasks to standard.
• Document full cleanings performed.
• Demonstrate understanding of cleaning methods and frequencies.
• Communicate with Domestic Supervisors, patients, visitors and staff to achieve standards.
• Ensure compliance with Health Board and Departmental policies.
