Job summary

The Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) is hiring an evening wage Housekeeper to ensure all areas are clean and tidy, including lobbies, hallways and restrooms. The role supports a safe and hygienic environment compliant with health and safety regulations.

The position involves custodial services across multiple campus buildings and requires flexibility to work 3–4 days per week, with evening and weekend hours. A Virginia driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of residential/commercial cleaning and sanitation techniques.
• Knowledge of proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Ability to perform multiple cleaning tasks.
• Understanding of standard cleaning techniques and safety regulations.
• Familiarity with Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and OSHA guidelines.
• Experience using industrial cleaning equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of public areas including lobbies, hallways and restrooms.
• Follow health and safety regulations and environmental guidelines.
• Handle cleaning chemicals safely and store them properly.
• Support custodial operations across multiple buildings as assigned.
• Ensure confidentiality and security of sensitive information where applicable.
