Job summary

The Halifax Regional Centre for Education (HRCE) is seeking a Custodian to support the Operations Services Department. The role focuses on maintaining clean, sanitary, and attractive school facilities through professional cleaning and proactive maintenance in line with district policies.

You will report to the Caretaker and Building Management Supervisor, work varying shifts (day, evening, nights), and contribute to safe, welcoming learning environments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs to perform cleaning duties.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Willing to work day, evening and night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean, sanitary, and attractive school facilities.
• Perform cleaning and maintenance duties in a safe, efficient manner.
• Reports to Caretaker and Building Management Supervisor.
• Follow Halifax Regional Centre for Education policies and procedures.
