Job summary

The University of Edinburgh’s CMVM / Royal Dick School of Veterinary Studies is seeking a dedicated Clinical Cleaner for the hospital team. This part-time role offers 15 hours per week on Thursdays and Fridays, with shifts from 1:30pm to 10:00pm, and a single lunch break.

You will help maintain a safe, clean clinical environment across wards, treatment rooms and shared spaces, following infection prevention policies and COSHH guidance. Training will be provided to support your progression.

Qualifications

• Experience in clinical or hospital cleaning desirable.
• Ability to follow infection control procedures and COSHH guidance.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine tidying and deep cleaning of clinical areas including wards, treatment rooms, isolation areas, and shared spaces
• Follow infection prevention procedures to minimise cross-contamination
• Clean and maintain equipment and high-touch surfaces
• Respond to urgent cleaning requirements as clinical activity fluctuates
• Safely use cleaning chemicals and equipment per COSHH guidance
• Work with clinical and non-clinical staff to support safe hospital operations
• Maintain cleaning records where required
