Job summary

Mount Charles Group is currently recruiting a Cleaning Operative to join our team at Lagan Valley Island, Lisburn. This permanent position offers 11.25 hours per week with shifts 5pm–7:15pm and a competitive hourly rate of £12.71.

The role involves cleaning designated areas to required standards, using COSHH-approved chemicals, and maintaining equipment. We support career progression and offer a supportive working environment.

Qualifications

• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Flexible with a positive, can-do attitude.
• Good time-management skills.
• Attention to detail in all aspects of the work.
• Basic reading, writing, speaking and listening skills to understand safety instructions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all areas are cleaned efficiently and in a timely manner to the required standards, including weekly and periodic tasks.
• Use cleaning chemicals safely as detailed by COSHH guidelines.
• Ensure full working knowledge of cleaning equipment, materials and agents and use equipment as directed by the Line Manager.
• Report immediately any equipment that is faulty, mark as faulty and do not use.
• Ensure safety signage is used appropriately at all times, e.g. wet floor signs and warn customers where possible.
• Keep cleaning stores clean and tidy and store equipment safely.
• Be knowledgeable about biohazards and understand environments that may involve cleaning bodily fluids.
• Comply with all security regulations for cleaning materials, equipment and buildings.
