Job summary

Vale of Glamorgan Council is seeking a part-time cleaning operative at St Cyres Comprehensive to deliver cleaning services during term-time. The role runs Monday to Friday from 3–6pm, 15 hours per week over 38 weeks, with occasional recess cleaning and holiday cover.

Applicants should have prior cleaning industry experience, good communication skills, and be physically able to perform manual duties. DBS checks are required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in the cleaning industry or a related environment.
• Understanding of cleaning tasks to provide efficient premises cleaning services.
• Good verbal communication with the public and client officers.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing an effective cleaning service to building cleaning clients.
• Cover other cleaners during holidays, sickness, staff shortages or other absences.
• Assist the chargehand/Site Supervisor with training of cleaning staff.
• Undertake all cleaning tasks including carpet cleaning, steam cleaning and site-specific cleaning as required.
