Qualifications

Job description

Assistant Evening Domestic Abuse Worker

Location: Rochdale

Type: Permanent

Salary: £16,760

Hours: Part-time, 16.33 hours per week on a 3-week rolling rota

Our Client

Morgan Hunt is working with a leading charity providing support services to women, men, and families affected by domestic abuse, homelessness, and young parents across Northwest England. Their goal is to improve safety and life opportunities, supporting clients in recovery, and empowering them to regain control over their lives.

The Role
  • Accept new referrals, complete move-in procedures, and support flat turnarounds, cleaning, and restocking to ensure timely accommodation for referrals.
  • Ensure the upkeep and security of the building, and manage cash and equipment responsibly.
  • Adhere to support plans and risk assessments, updating the Domestic Abuse Support Worker (DASW) on changes or incidents.
  • Provide feedback on tenant SMART plans and record documentation accurately.
  • Complete risk assessments for activities, including safety planning and regular reviews.
  • Collaborate with clients and staff to develop annual engagement plans, promoting involvement and service improvement.
  • Facilitate evening group work sessions and evaluate their effectiveness.
  • Follow financial policies, managing the project budget appropriately.
  • Monitor security systems and ensure the safety of premises continuously.
  • Maintain accurate client records, including contact notes, incident reports, and outcomes.
  • Manage anti-social behaviour or neighbour nuisance reports following escalation procedures.
  • Address engagement obstacles using a trauma-informed approach.
  • Promote the service and uphold GDPR, confidentiality, and professional boundaries.
The Candidate
  • Relevant qualification in Domestic Abuse/IDVA/ISVA, diploma, degree, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent experience, with willingness to achieve a Level 3 qualification.
  • Extensive understanding of individuals and families experiencing domestic abuse.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with effective time management.
  • Experience in planning, delivering, and evaluating group work sessions.
  • Knowledge of risk assessments, including DASH Ric, and support plan outcomes.
  • Understanding of complex needs, homelessness, and welfare legislation.
  • Knowledge of health and safety, lone working, and relevant legislation.
