Job summary

Cox Motor Group Lancaster BYD dealership is hiring a Motor Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester. Four days per week, 39 hours, with Saturdays on a rota, salary £30,000–£50,000 pro-rata. Role focuses on servicing, diagnostics and MOT testing for electric/hybrid vehicles.

Qualifications

• Requires Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician is essential.
• MOT Tester licence desirable but not essential.
• Interest in electric/hybrid vehicle technology is required.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Full, clean UK driving licence is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and identify vehicle faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment and technology.
• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs to manufacturer standards.
• Work with electric and hybrid vehicle technology.
• Conduct MOT tests where qualified.
• Perform road tests and ensure work is accurate, safe and efficient.
• Manage tools and parts, maintaining high workmanship standards.
