EV Car Charging Construction Site Manager

Location: Various UK Sites, must be able to travel to Company office minimum twice per week (Birmingham area)

Salary: Competitive and Negotiable, plus Company Vehicle

Our client are seeking an experienced EV Car Charging Construction Site Manager to oversee the installation and construction of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across the UK. The role involves managing on-site operations, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget, and maintaining high safety and quality standards. This role is ideal for a construction professional looking to make an impact in the growing EV infrastructure industry.

The role

  • Oversee the installation of EV charging stations at various locations, including public, commercial, and residential sites.
  • Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution. Manage workforce scheduling and ensure efficient site operations.
  • Monitor work progress and address any issues to keep projects on schedule and within budget. Provide progress updates and reports to project managers and senior management. Review technical drawings, site plans, and installation specifications to ensure compliance.
  • Conduct quality checks on completed installations and troubleshoot any issues.
  • Liaise with clients, local authorities, DNOs (Distribution Network Operators), and subcontractors.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement necessary safety measures.

Requirements

  • Experience in construction supervision, preferably in EV charging infrastructure, electrical installations and/or civil engineering.
  • HV, Sub-stations and LV network knowledge.
  • Strong knowledge of UK construction regulations and health & safety standards.
  • CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card.
  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
  • Experience working with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs/IDNOs) and understanding of electrical grid connections.

Desirable But Not Essential Skills

  • Electrical qualifications (e.g., 18th Edition Wiring Regulations) are a plus.
  • Understanding of civils work such as ducting, trenching, groundwork, and reinstatement.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
