ALTEN in Coventry invites applications for an Electrical Test Engineer to support automotive electrification projects. You will test and validate electrical and battery systems, analyze test data, and investigate faults in a high-performance engineering environment.

The role focuses on testing electrical drive units, battery validation, and coordinating activities with engineering teams, ensuring quality and safety standards are met. Mid-level experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical test engineering within automotive or electrification environments.
• Knowledge of EDU, EV powertrains, or electrical propulsion systems.
• Experience conducting testing, validation, and fault-finding activities.
• Ability to analyse and interpret technical and performance data.
• Understanding of instrumentation and test equipment.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the testing and validation of electrical and electric drive unit systems.
• Develop and execute test procedures and validation activities.
• Monitor, analyse, and interpret test data, identifying faults and trends.
• Support battery fault-finding and root cause investigations.
• Coordinate testing activities with engineering and operational teams.
• Produce technical reports and test documentation.
• Support the integration and commissioning of test equipment and instrumentation.
• Ensure testing activities are completed in line with quality and safety standards.
